This competition is now closed.
'Competition 1' is open to the beginners, who wish to start learning Capoeira and have done none or no more than one of the Capoeira Agora courses and wish to participate in one of our courses in March or purchase Saturday 4-classes pass before the day indicated in the competition's rules. 'Competition 2' is for our lovely members. Good luck!

How do we call the basic step in Capoeira?

Q1. How do we call the basic step in Capoeira? Ginga
Q2: Name (in Portuguese) 6 parts of berimbau and give the translation or explanation which part you refer to in English):
- verga – wooden stick, could be made from biribá, bamboo, or any other wood that can bend and hold without breaking
- cabaça – A gourd, dried, opened and hollowed-out, could be made for example from calabash
- arame – a metal wire, tradiotionally pulled out of the car tire
- baqueta (also called vareta) – small stick abut 30cm long with which you hit the arame
- caxixi – a shaker, a rattle
- dobrão/moeda or pedra – a coin, or a stone
